New Month, new day, new answers!

September 1, 2010
Psalm 73:24 (Contemporary English Version)
24Your advice has been my guide,
and later you will welcome me
in glory. [a]

"Thou shalt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory."—Psalm 73:24.
THE Psalmist felt his need of divine guidance. He had just been discovering the foolishness of his own heart, and lest he should be constantly led astray by it, he resolved that God's counsel should henceforth guide him. A sense of our own folly is a great step towards being wise, when it leads us to rely on the wisdom of the Lord. The blind man leans on his friend's arm and reaches home in safety, and so would we give ourselves up implicitly to divine guidance, nothing doubting; assured that though we cannot see, it is always safe to trust the All-seeing God. "Thou shalt," is a blessed expression of confidence. He was sure that the Lord would not decline the condescending task. There is a word for thee, O believer; rest thou in it. Be assured that thy God will be thy counsellor and friend; He shall guide thee; He will direct all thy ways. In His written Word thou hast this assurance in part fulfilled, for holy Scripture is His counsel to thee. Happy are we to have God's Word always to guide us! What were the mariner without his compass? And what were the Christian without the Bible? This is the unerring chart, the map in which every shoal is described, and all the channels from the quicksands of destruction to the haven of salvation mapped and marked by one who knows all the way. Blessed be Thou, O God, that we may trust Thee to guide us now, and guide us even to the end! After this guidance through life, the Psalmist anticipates a divine reception at last—"and afterward receive me to glory." What a thought for thee, believer! God Himself will receive thee to glory—thee! Wandering, erring, straying, yet He will bring thee safe at last to glory! This is thy portion; live on it this day, and if perplexities should surround thee, go in the strength of this text straight to the throne.

Devo's

Been out of the loop for a while, although I have been spending time with Jesus daily. I thought that I would begin adding my devo's once again.
8/31/10
Isaiah 51:5
5 My righteousness draws near speedily,
my salvation is on the way,
and my arm will bring justice to the nations.
The islands will look to me
and wait in hope for my arm.

"On mine arm shall they trust."—Isaiah 51:5.

IN seasons of severe trial, the Christian has nothing on earth that he can trust to, and is therefore compelled to cast himself on his God alone. When his vessel is on its beam-ends, and no human deliverance can avail, he must simply and entirely trust himself to the providence and care of God. Happy storm that wrecks a man on such a rock as this! O blessed hurricane that drives the soul to God and God alone! There is no getting at our God sometimes because of the multitude of our friends; but when a man is so poor, so friendless, so helpless that he has nowhere else to turn, he flies into his Father's arms, and is blessedly clasped therein! When he is burdened with troubles so pressing and so peculiar, that he cannot tell them to any but his God, he may be thankful for them; for he will learn more of his Lord then than at any other time. Oh, tempest-tossed believer, it is a happy trouble that drives thee to thy Father! Now that thou hast only thy God to trust to, see that thou puttest thy full confidence in Him. Dishonour not thy Lord and Master by unworthy doubts and fears; but be strong in faith, giving glory to God. Show the world that thy God is worth ten thousand worlds to thee. Show rich men how rich thou art in thy poverty when the Lord God is thy helper. Show the strong man how strong thou art in thy weakness when underneath thee are the everlasting arms. Now is the time for feats of faith and valiant exploits. Be strong and very courageous, and the Lord thy God shall certainly, as surely as He built the heavens and the earth, glorify Himself in thy weakness, and magnify his might in the midst of thy distress. The grandeur of the arch of heaven would be spoiled if the sky were supported by a single visible column, and your faith would lose its glory if it rested on anything discernible by the carnal eye. May the Holy Spirit give you to rest in Jesus this closing day of the month.

when I am doubting Holy Spirit quicken me. Thank you Daddy that you are always there for me you are my strong tower. When I am weak you are strong, I can always rely on you. I can lay in your everlasting arms, even when garbage is going on around me. You Lord I put my trust. You make me rich Daddy God. You are the only one that knows my everything, thank you for always wanting what is good for me. Lord today, you know everything that needs to be accomplished, today you know that we need answers and I am trusting you, since you have perfect timing in everything.

Well we decided to homeschool the little one, as he was distractiong the class too much. We are hoping to build trust with him. Let's see what the summer brings.

I think that one of our biggest challenges is having balance in our lives, many times in our families we have so many activities lined up and are running here and there. This wears us down. We need REST. Anyway, who says that we need to be involved in so many activities? When we are tired, it wears on our souls which makes us become weary. 3 John I pray that you may prosper in every way and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. Remember to REST!

Been Active

Amazing things have been happening. We are so excited that our friends got the relief parents position and will be here the first week of April!
We painted the girls rooms and tiled the kitchen backsplash. It all looks GREAT.

We need some intense prayer here, as there is truly a spiritual battle going on in our home. The kids come in with so much junk.

Back from Women's retreat

I had some major breakthrough's! I did find out that I don't truly honor my hubby like I should. I need to be still in some situations and listen for the Lord's voice before I speak.

Mom-"A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed"
(Proverbs 11:25, NIV)
Are you feeling overwhelmed, tired or beat down, then encourage or bless someone else. Who can you be a blessing to?

Hubby Hurt foot

Ok, hubby's foot might be something else and not gout. His foot is so huge.We will take him to the doctor's today.

Mom-John 15:1-8 Your life is significant! God has chosen you and He wants you to bear much fruit, but for some reason many of us are held back by our thoughts, we might say I am not worthy, good enough, or why did God make me this way, etc.. these thoughts hold us back from being productive. Are your fruits drawing people near, so that you can give God the glory? If not, what changes do you need to make, not just words but actions, so others will want what you have, and that’s Jesus.

Games last night

We had so much fun last night. We played drawing, drawing. What we did was had 2 teams, 3 on each team and a person timing. We each started a pic and had to draw for 20 seconds, then when timer sounded, we had to switch with the person next to us and add to their drawing, we switched 3 times, as there were 3 people on our team. We also tried doing it blindfolded. The kids had so much fun, and the outcome of the pics were funny.

We also played, hide objects. I gathered 10 items, and allowed the kids to look at them for 5 seconds. I then hid the items in the room and they had one minute to find them all. If they picked something that was not on the list they lost a point. I then gathered 10 more, and did the same thing. Then we hid all 20, giving them 1.5 minutes. This was a lot of fun.

Mom-John 16:5-15 What is keeping God's glory from being the most desired goal in your life? What do you think would change in your life if God's glory became the number one desire? My hope is that we would ALL run hard after Jesus. What's holding you back, laziness, fear, time, busyness...? Make changes even if it means you have to give... up your sleep, tv or whatever time. God has a way of restoring us, when we take the time for Him.

Snow day again!

No school again today. I am so excited for spring to come. I have to come up with a project for all the kids to work on today. Maybe we should work on a study of Easter.

Mom- "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he" Prov 3:7

Do ya ever stop to think about what you are thinking about? God’s word says that we need to know the thoughts we have inside of us, they are important to Him. What we think about will come out in our attitude and actions. We are setting the course of our lives by our thoughts, be sure they line up with what the Lord says about us. He has great plans for us.
