New Month, new day, new answers!

September 1, 2010
Psalm 73:24 (Contemporary English Version)
24Your advice has been my guide,
and later you will welcome me
in glory. [a]

"Thou shalt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory."—Psalm 73:24.
THE Psalmist felt his need of divine guidance. He had just been discovering the foolishness of his own heart, and lest he should be constantly led astray by it, he resolved that God's counsel should henceforth guide him. A sense of our own folly is a great step towards being wise, when it leads us to rely on the wisdom of the Lord. The blind man leans on his friend's arm and reaches home in safety, and so would we give ourselves up implicitly to divine guidance, nothing doubting; assured that though we cannot see, it is always safe to trust the All-seeing God. "Thou shalt," is a blessed expression of confidence. He was sure that the Lord would not decline the condescending task. There is a word for thee, O believer; rest thou in it. Be assured that thy God will be thy counsellor and friend; He shall guide thee; He will direct all thy ways. In His written Word thou hast this assurance in part fulfilled, for holy Scripture is His counsel to thee. Happy are we to have God's Word always to guide us! What were the mariner without his compass? And what were the Christian without the Bible? This is the unerring chart, the map in which every shoal is described, and all the channels from the quicksands of destruction to the haven of salvation mapped and marked by one who knows all the way. Blessed be Thou, O God, that we may trust Thee to guide us now, and guide us even to the end! After this guidance through life, the Psalmist anticipates a divine reception at last—"and afterward receive me to glory." What a thought for thee, believer! God Himself will receive thee to glory—thee! Wandering, erring, straying, yet He will bring thee safe at last to glory! This is thy portion; live on it this day, and if perplexities should surround thee, go in the strength of this text straight to the throne.

Devo's

Been out of the loop for a while, although I have been spending time with Jesus daily. I thought that I would begin adding my devo's once again.
8/31/10
Isaiah 51:5
5 My righteousness draws near speedily,
my salvation is on the way,
and my arm will bring justice to the nations.
The islands will look to me
and wait in hope for my arm.

"On mine arm shall they trust."—Isaiah 51:5.

IN seasons of severe trial, the Christian has nothing on earth that he can trust to, and is therefore compelled to cast himself on his God alone. When his vessel is on its beam-ends, and no human deliverance can avail, he must simply and entirely trust himself to the providence and care of God. Happy storm that wrecks a man on such a rock as this! O blessed hurricane that drives the soul to God and God alone! There is no getting at our God sometimes because of the multitude of our friends; but when a man is so poor, so friendless, so helpless that he has nowhere else to turn, he flies into his Father's arms, and is blessedly clasped therein! When he is burdened with troubles so pressing and so peculiar, that he cannot tell them to any but his God, he may be thankful for them; for he will learn more of his Lord then than at any other time. Oh, tempest-tossed believer, it is a happy trouble that drives thee to thy Father! Now that thou hast only thy God to trust to, see that thou puttest thy full confidence in Him. Dishonour not thy Lord and Master by unworthy doubts and fears; but be strong in faith, giving glory to God. Show the world that thy God is worth ten thousand worlds to thee. Show rich men how rich thou art in thy poverty when the Lord God is thy helper. Show the strong man how strong thou art in thy weakness when underneath thee are the everlasting arms. Now is the time for feats of faith and valiant exploits. Be strong and very courageous, and the Lord thy God shall certainly, as surely as He built the heavens and the earth, glorify Himself in thy weakness, and magnify his might in the midst of thy distress. The grandeur of the arch of heaven would be spoiled if the sky were supported by a single visible column, and your faith would lose its glory if it rested on anything discernible by the carnal eye. May the Holy Spirit give you to rest in Jesus this closing day of the month.

when I am doubting Holy Spirit quicken me. Thank you Daddy that you are always there for me you are my strong tower. When I am weak you are strong, I can always rely on you. I can lay in your everlasting arms, even when garbage is going on around me. You Lord I put my trust. You make me rich Daddy God. You are the only one that knows my everything, thank you for always wanting what is good for me. Lord today, you know everything that needs to be accomplished, today you know that we need answers and I am trusting you, since you have perfect timing in everything.

Well we decided to homeschool the little one, as he was distractiong the class too much. We are hoping to build trust with him. Let's see what the summer brings.

I think that one of our biggest challenges is having balance in our lives, many times in our families we have so many activities lined up and are running here and there. This wears us down. We need REST. Anyway, who says that we need to be involved in so many activities? When we are tired, it wears on our souls which makes us become weary. 3 John I pray that you may prosper in every way and be in good health, just as your soul prospers. Remember to REST!

Been Active

Amazing things have been happening. We are so excited that our friends got the relief parents position and will be here the first week of April!
We painted the girls rooms and tiled the kitchen backsplash. It all looks GREAT.

We need some intense prayer here, as there is truly a spiritual battle going on in our home. The kids come in with so much junk.

Back from Women's retreat

I had some major breakthrough's! I did find out that I don't truly honor my hubby like I should. I need to be still in some situations and listen for the Lord's voice before I speak.

Mom-"A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed"
(Proverbs 11:25, NIV)
Are you feeling overwhelmed, tired or beat down, then encourage or bless someone else. Who can you be a blessing to?

Hubby Hurt foot

Ok, hubby's foot might be something else and not gout. His foot is so huge.We will take him to the doctor's today.

Mom-John 15:1-8 Your life is significant! God has chosen you and He wants you to bear much fruit, but for some reason many of us are held back by our thoughts, we might say I am not worthy, good enough, or why did God make me this way, etc.. these thoughts hold us back from being productive. Are your fruits drawing people near, so that you can give God the glory? If not, what changes do you need to make, not just words but actions, so others will want what you have, and that’s Jesus.

Games last night

We had so much fun last night. We played drawing, drawing. What we did was had 2 teams, 3 on each team and a person timing. We each started a pic and had to draw for 20 seconds, then when timer sounded, we had to switch with the person next to us and add to their drawing, we switched 3 times, as there were 3 people on our team. We also tried doing it blindfolded. The kids had so much fun, and the outcome of the pics were funny.

We also played, hide objects. I gathered 10 items, and allowed the kids to look at them for 5 seconds. I then hid the items in the room and they had one minute to find them all. If they picked something that was not on the list they lost a point. I then gathered 10 more, and did the same thing. Then we hid all 20, giving them 1.5 minutes. This was a lot of fun.

Mom-John 16:5-15 What is keeping God's glory from being the most desired goal in your life? What do you think would change in your life if God's glory became the number one desire? My hope is that we would ALL run hard after Jesus. What's holding you back, laziness, fear, time, busyness...? Make changes even if it means you have to give... up your sleep, tv or whatever time. God has a way of restoring us, when we take the time for Him.

Snow day again!

No school again today. I am so excited for spring to come. I have to come up with a project for all the kids to work on today. Maybe we should work on a study of Easter.

Mom- "For as he thinks in his heart, so is he" Prov 3:7

Do ya ever stop to think about what you are thinking about? God’s word says that we need to know the thoughts we have inside of us, they are important to Him. What we think about will come out in our attitude and actions. We are setting the course of our lives by our thoughts, be sure they line up with what the Lord says about us. He has great plans for us.

Workgroup left

Well, the workgroup left a few days ago. We were supposed to go to KC, but all got sick. We have been home playing games. We have NOT been cleaning. My house looks it too. The kids are coming back tomorrow and have much to do.

Mom-Sometimes we see little because we believe little. My life is a living miracle, Jesus miraculously changed me. He changed my heart and my soul. He moved the mountain of a selfish, self-focused destructive heart. He’s still moving mountains from my life. I pray that I never get to a place where I am not teachable or where I am not obedient to correction. Everything is possible to the one who believes (Mark 9:23)

Mega cleaning today

Hmmm...I have to get organized with the cleaning today. We have 10 college kids coming to stay with us. I will have much cooking to do today. Oh yeah, and have to make valentines cookies for all the kids classes.

Dad-2Kings 13 Our sin can hinder us from the fullness of God

Mom-John 1:1-5 Is there any kind of darkness that keeps trying to hinder me to keep the Light shining through me. Remember to be alert with what's coming at me and also be willing to be corrected.

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Yes! Kids have school today.

Well, I thought school would be cancelled again. I am so thankful that it's not. I have much to do today, as a work group is coming in tomorrow, which has 53 college students signed up. It could be more or less. I guess we will have about 10 people staying at our house.

Dad-2 Kings 14 God can use the wicked people to accomplish His will

Mom-John 1:14-18 Are you spending your time in furious pursuit for the Life Giver? What would happen in your life if you really started enjoying Him? He is willing to show you, are you seeking?

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

Peace

Oh no, school cancelled again today!

Dad-2 Kings 15- Seek what the Lord wants and seek Him only

Mom- Pslm 27:13 No matter what you are going through, know that the Lord has your best interest at heart. Don't look at your circumstances, look to the Lord, He is your rescurer. He is your everything.

Hubby's Birthday

Hubby's b-day. Wow, are we middle aged now? That's hard to believe. I used to think it was old. My perspective has changed. I am so blessed to have such a great hubby, one that runs hard after the Lord. He is one that constantly wants to change and die to self so that the Lord can use him. I love that so much about him. We actually celebrated his b-day last night and the night before I made him his shake-n-bake chicken (I know, not chops) Looking forward to a great day. Yes, we do have family staff time today, but that's OK. Oh yeah, and we have to meet with attorney for the kids and oh yeah, we have a function at the school tonight, oops and tutoring for the kids tonight. Good thing we are celebrating his b-day next week. Yes, we will be going to Kansas city for 3 days.

Dad- 2 Kings 16 We have to keep focused on the Lord or we will do things that we will regret later

Mom- 1 John 2:15-17 Are you one that the Lord can trust with giving words and one in whom He can work through? Are you growing passionately in love with Him? Are you eager to spend time with your Daddy God. Hurry don’t miss out. He has awesome secrets to tell you, are you listening?

Sunday, February 7, 2010

Super Bowl Day.

We are having a Super Bowl Party. Go Colts! Off to early morning service, hopefully the one child will obey today.

Dad- 1 Chro 26- God has people in all the places that He needs them

Mom- Acts14:22 It is necessary to pass through many troubles on our way to the kingdom of God. Even when we allow we allow the enemy to cause us to stumble, God is working behind the scenes. Many times our breakthroughs/revelations come after we stumble. Keep your eyes on the prize.

What's in your Heart?

Snow...ok, Lord I will LOVE the snow. You showed me the little treasures in the snow today. We made snow ice-cream, which is very easy to make 1 gallon of snow, 2 cups of milk, 1 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon vanilla, mix all together and enjoy. I loved playing outside with the kids and hearing them giggle and have a good time.

Dad- 1 Chron 25 God loves praise and worshop that is going to glorify Him

Mom- 1 John 2:24-27 We were built for adventure. What's holding you back from surrendering your ALL to Jesus? Are you just squeezing time in to spend with Him? Are you excited to spend time with Him each day expecting Him to show you little nuggets of truth and correction? Run to Him to see what treasures He has for you each day.

Conviction!

Dad- 1 Chron 24 We all are given gifts and should operate in them whenever we can

Mom- We need to celebrate that the Lord created us uniquely different. We should use our differences to serve others. It's an awesome thing that God didn't create us into cookie-cutter images. Remember the Lord is busy molding you into someone NO one else has ever been. You are God's created masterpiece. God has equipped you with ALL that you need.Don't let others try to mold you into the way they think you should look. Lord forgive me for trying to mold others and expecting others to run whole heatedly after you. This is a struggle for me, Lord help me to just love on them, exactly where they are.

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

Family time today

Dad- 1 Chron 23 All roles are important to God

Mom- Acts 12:1-5 Are you willing to grow intimate with the Lord even if it means you must do it alone? How dependent are you on others for your relationship with Jesus? Have you really surrendered your spouse, children and parents to Him? Let go of everything and let God really change you.

Tuesday, February 2, 2010

Active Day today

Dad- 1 Chron 22- We don't always understand why God has us do something a certain way. His ways are not our ways

Mom- Acts 8 Are you prejudice in any areas of your life- Do you judge those that don't seem to be on the same walk as you are? Oh, Lord, forgive me and help me to walk the way you want me to walk. Keep my fire burning no matter what everyone else is doing.

Monday, February 1, 2010

We have an active week ahead of us.

I am so glad that we are back into small groups. I knew that we were really missing something.

Today we are working on Asia, Solomn and making a shoebox for Bethany, which she will share with one of her friends. It will be about her life, pics and stories.

Dad- 2 Kings 21 Sometimes fighting evil can bring about a great deal of backlash

Mom-Acts 8:1-13 Lord I want to be one that I will say I am grateful in difficult times, knowing all the while you are making me stronger, so that others can see you in me. I always want to be dependent on you in ALL area of my life.

Weekend-Sam's b-day

Well Samuel had a b-day on Thursday. It was a different kind of celebration that we are used to. New traditions forming.

Dad- 2 Kings 22- Obey the Word of the Lord so that all will go well with you

Mom- Pslm:20:7Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God - I will face many challanges. The best thing that I can do is stay focused and NOT expect things to go my own way. When it looks like there is no way out, God always provides a way, as He is always faithful

Friday, January 29, 2010

oops haven't had the time to post in a few days

Well, Samuel's birthday was yesterday, it's hard to believe he's 11 already. We had an active day yesterday, we were on our way to Moberly, when we received a phone call to pick up one of the kids from school, due to behavior....again!

Dad- 2 Kings 23 We should always seek after the Lord in all we do

Mom- Act 3:1-10 God cherishes our heritage, of all that we have gone through. He needs all the junk that we have been through for our future. Grab a handful of faith, and be changed, like the crippled man. Don't allow the enemy to keep you stuck, get up and walk!

Chicken, Hogs and more chicken....

We recently canned and froze cooked chicken. Here I am again today, cooking about 40 pounds of chicken, cleaning it and putting it into freezer bags. I also have lots of broth, I think that I will have enough broth for an entire year. The men are butchering hogs again today. They received training yesterday and were amazed at how fast they had them skinned, gutted and hanged. They will be cutting and packaging today.

Today is going to be a fantastic day. OK, I just walked outside....grrr, it's freezing! Still gonna be a great day.

Dad- 2 Kings 24 God's Judgement of sin can have lasting effects

Mom-Acts 1:1-11 How am I walking? Am I walking in the reality that Jesus could return today? How are my actions, my words, and my thoughts? Am I in awe of Him? Oh Daddy God- Come quickly!

Monday, New week

Wow, hopefully this week will go much better then last week! I am excited about the new week, looking forward to growing and learning.
Today and tomorrow we will be butchering hogs, actually the men/boys will, from both sites. I am still to be light on my foot. I will be cooking tomorrow, I think.

Mom- John 21:15-23 Love is the motivating force in the entire life of faith.Only the love for Jesus must keep burning no matter what is going on around me. Love is everything. Lord flood me with your Love, so that I can love others the way you do. Help me to see and love through spiritual eyes.

Saturday

Well, life never goes the way we expect it to go. Sam, was able to go to the winter fest, in St. Louis, which was a last minute decision. It was strange to have our baby boy hanging with the middle school and high school kids. He arrived home at just about 3am. He couldn't stop talking about how much fun he had.

Today we are having some of the other families over for lunch. We are having grinders and chicken soup. Who knows what will happen, will we play games, chat or pray? I am expecting another adventurous day.

Speaking of adventurous- My devo's were awesome this morning.

Mom- John 21:7-14 Am I being one that just goes with the flow of those I hang with, I mean do I have the right church lingo and go with what others think is acceptable? Am I eager to run to Jesus and not care what others think? Am I like Peter in this passage...oh, it's Jesus, My Daddy, I have to go or will I lag behind in the boat and wait for the others? Do I have the attitude I don't care what others think, I am so eager to spend time with my Daddy. Hey, if you want to loaf and dilly dally and do things half heartily, go for it...but I'm diving in!

Dad- 2 Kings 25 Pick your battles carefully, as it might not be worth the fight

Friday, January 22, 2010

Friday

Ok...I want to know if we totally have a full moon?

Dad- 1 Chronicles 1- Everyone has a story to tell

Mom-John 21: 1-7 When I am antsy or can't seem to put my finger on it, do I fall back into past patterns or do I dive forward, and say, Oh it's the Lord and rest in His arms? I need to be still many times and rest, He is faithful to show and give revelation.

Thursday, January 21, 2010

Thursday

Wow, what a day of flexibility yesterday, there was much going on here at the ranch. I am hopeful that today will bring positive changes....wait is there a FULL MOON? Ok, this day has not started out that great. Two kids have been acting up. Mix up with who was to do the driving, all the kids were 30 minutes late...phew, at least all of them are at school. I am hopeful that it will be a great afternoon.

Dad- 1 Chron 2- We all play a part in life

Mom- John 19:38-42 Where there is life there is hope, actually the truth is where there is death there is hope. The greatest hope is in what’s behind our deaths-bring our baggage to the cross & we will be resurrected-yes many times it comes with suffering, but through that suffering it produces a crop. Stay focused!

Chris- Matt 6:7-13 I don't always get what I want

Tymber- Phil 4:13 I can do ALL things if I look to God

Samuel- 1Pet 1:18-19 I can be redeemed with the blood of Christ. I can be redeemed everyday, that I need to do God's will and not mine. It's hard to do what God wants me to do.

Bethany-

Alicea- I need to think, don't talk when others are talking.

Wednesday, January 20, 2010

Wednesday- What a great day!

Ok, Todd and I were up until 3am, yup 3am! The good thing for me was that I was able to sleep until 12am, which gave me a bit of sleep. We have been in thought and prayer about all that is going on in the house.

Dad- 1 Chron 3- Even though we are blessed, we can still have issues

Mom- Josh 1:8-Do I go around complaining or do I speak life? Do I remind myself of God's promises? God will always come through, sometimes I might hinder things when I complain- I must STAND FIRM on HIS Word!

Chris- 2 Kings 4:4-7 If I believe in God or if I take the advice of someone who reads the Bible, they will guide me in the right direction.

Tymber-Proverbs 2:1-5 I learned that if I accept His word and store up His commands in my heart, I will get freer, it means that if I do that my boo boos will get better.
